A very welcome visitor this afternoon was this Lockheed Martin C-130J-30 Hercules carrying serial 5699 of Royal Norwegian Air Force (RNoAF). The RNoAF operates four C-130J which are all based in Oslo/Gardermoen Airport and are operated by 335 Squadron.
The RNoAF fleet of C-130J are all named after mythological Norse gods, 5699 named Frøya was delivered in September 2012, replacing Siv, another RNoAF C-130J that crashed during an exercise in Sweden earlier that same year.
The last RNoAF aircraft in Malta was a Dassault Falcon 20 for the airshow in 2002.
