An Aeromacchi MB339 aircraft belonging to the Italian National Aerobatic Team the Frecce tricolori has crashed today on take off from Caselle Airport, in the Northern city of Turin.
A video posted by QuotidianoCanavese a youtube channel shows the team taking off and one of the aircraft looses power and thrust on take off and lost altitude before the pilot ejected.
Based on the position in the formation, the aircraft involved in the incident should be Pony 4 (MM54539), although this has not yet been confirmed.
Italian media is reporting that the MB-339 hit a car travelling on a road just outside the perimeter fence killing a 5-year old girl while her parents and older brother have been injured. No updates regarding the pilot.
