Fincantieri has signed an agreement with Carnival Corporation & plc for the design, engineering and construction of three new cruise ships for the Carnival Cruise Line brand. The value of the deal, subject to financing finalization and other standard terms and conditions to be completed in the second half of the year, is considered very important.

The order concerns a new class of ships powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) with a gross tonnage of approximately 230,000 tonnes, the largest units ever built by Fincantieri and in an Italian shipyard , with delivery scheduled for 2029, 2031 and 2031 respectively. in 2033. With over 3,000 guest cabins, the new units will be able to carry nearly 8,000 passengers at full capacity.
These new ships will also be equipped with advanced technologies to improve energy efficiency, waste management and emissions reduction, so as to further minimize the company’s environmental footprint. Over the course of its history, Fincantieri has delivered a total of 75 ships to the different brands of Carnival Corporation, with another unit currently under construction at the Monfalcone shipyard, and 15 cruise ships for the Carnival Cruise Line brand.
