Remembrance Day commemorated in Malta

Remembrance Sunday, also known as Poppy Day, is a memorial day commemorating those service men and women whom died while doing their duties in past wars have been commemorated throughout the Commonwealth since the end of World War I.

The Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) Air Wing participated in the war memorial service, much  like in previous years along other units from the AFM, Malta Police and veterans.

This year the AFM Air Wing conducted a poppy drop with the oldest aircraft in the fleet, the Britten Norman BN2T Turbine Islander serial AS9819.

The aircraft flew from Grand Harbour in the direction of the War Memorial in Floriana and as poppies were left just as the aircraft approached the Monument and parade.
