Earlier today on 25th January, a Türk Hava Kuvvetleri Komutanlığı (Turkish Air Force – TurAF) C-160T Transall aircraft encountered a technical issue after departing from Kayseri-Erkilet airport. The crew struggled with the aircraft as they tried to return to land. Astonishing footage captured the crew’s heroic struggle as the aircraft skimmed perilously low over the city of Kayseri with engine number one propeller looked feathered.
In a video of the landing the aircraft made a runway excursion. In a statement the Turkish Ministry of Defense said the aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing during a routine training exercise in Kayseri, central Turkey, due to a technical malfunction. pic.twitter.com/GtRc8tsSRP

The aircraft, identified as 69-036 and christened “Gören-1,” had undergone indigenous upgrades to serve as a Target Acquisition/Command and Control (C2) Aircraft under 221 Filo.
In a separate report, it was noted that the same C-160T aircraft involved in the recent emergency landing had previously participated in the Anatolian Eagle 2019 exercise, a testament to its operational significance within the Turkish Air Force’s fleet.
