Earlier this morning, an Alouette III helicopter belonging to the Armed Forces of Malta was forced to conduct an emergency landing in a field near Imqabba.
The Armed Forces of Malta has confirmed that the crew members walked away from the incident and are undergoing evaluation by the AFM Medical Section. Technical specialists from the AFM will investigate the incident to ascertain the specific reasons for the emergency landing.
Early images show the extent of damage with the tail rotor and adjacent skid missing, It is not clear whether these ditched after landing into the field.
