As part of a broader package of military support measures unveiled on November 22, the UK is donating surplus Westland Sea King helicopters to Ukraine.
During a meeting with NATO allies in Oslo, Norway, UK Defense Secretary Ben Wallace announced the planned transfer of the former military helicopters.
Following training provided by the Royal Navy for 10 crews and ground personnel from the Ukrainian armed services, the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced that the first consignment of Sea King helicopters had landed in Ukraine. The BBC cited an anonymous source when reporting that three helicopters are being moved.
While unmanned aerial vehicles have previously been offered by the UK, this transfer would be the first occasion that human aircraft have been given to Ukraine.
